SUSANNE FRIEDRICH

About…

Susanne Friedrich is a painter and photographer who has lived in San Francisco since the earthquake in 1989. Since then California and the city has become home and an unending source for creative pursuits.

She draws inspiration from the ocean and the Bay surrounding the city as well as the landscape found in the hills and on the shores of Marin and the South Bay, the arrid hillse with its oaks and grasses, the stunning views of the Pacific. As a member of the Dolphin Club she has spent many hours rowing on the bay, swimming at Aquatic Park and working in the boatshop.

Born and raised in Germany, she came to the US at age 20 and studied Graphic Design at Massachussetts College of Art and before graduating with a degree in Photojournalism at England School Photography in Boston.

Since moving to California she has also studied printmaking and screenprinting and painting at the Art Institute and Ceramics at City College.
